Sydney graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus in 2022. Throughout her schooling she took an interest in Tissue Injury Repair and Exercise Physiology. In her fourth year, her practicum placement was with the varsity rugby team as a student athletic trainer. Working alongside licensed athletic therapists allowed her to further develop her understanding of diagnosing injuries and injury assessments. Since she was a child, sports have been a major component of her life. Whether it’s beach volleyball, skiing or throwing a frisbee, you can find her enjoying herself outside with friends and family. After suffering a hip injury in 2014, she has taken an interest in human anatomy and how the human body and mind heal after being injured. Being from Kamloops herself, she can’t wait to make personal connections and help others overcome the physical and psychological obstacles affecting their everyday lives. Joining the SMART rehab team is such an amazing opportunity and she is eager to make a positive impact and assist those living in the Kamloops community.
