RIMAL SANDHU, REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELOR

Rimal Sandhu, MA, RCC, CVRP has a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the Adler University and a BSc in Psychology from UNBC. Rimal also has her vocational rehabilitation professional certification (CVRP). As a registered clinical counsellor (RCC), Rimal has provided individual counselling and group services to adults of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Rimal has experience providing counselling support and treatment services to clients presenting with trauma (including occupational trauma, childhood abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence), mood and anxiety disorders, chronic pain, interpersonal relationships, and workplace and career issues. Her work with non-profit and government funded agencies, in the private, and in outreach and office-based environments has allowed her to help people from all walks of life, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

With over 18 years of varied training and experience, Rimal often tailors a therapeutic approach that best fits her client’s needs, often drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Adlerian Psychology. Rimal takes great pride in providing counselling services in English and Panjabi in a culturally sensitive manner with client centred, trauma-informed psych-educational, solution focused and goal-oriented approaches. She believes that change, although difficult, is possible with the right tools, effective goal setting and appropriate guidance.
