SMART Rehabilitation in Kamloops

ALYSHA SETKA, Kin

Alysha Setka graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2011 and is a registered member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists. She also holds certification in Functional Movement Screening and Ergonomics Assessment.

Alysha has had a lifelong passion for sport and exercise and this is what ultimately inspired her to pursue studies in Kinesiology. With her competitive athletic background and her own personal injuries, she understands the complexities of rehabilitation and the importance of appropriate training to prevent injuries.

Alysha grew up in Kamloops and has always had a goal of returning to her roots to serve the Kamloops community. While living in the Lower Mainland she began building her skillset in the biomechanics realm performing gait assessments and educating individuals about footwear, insoles, and custom orthotics. Alysha also did fittings for custom knee braces, bracing/sport medicine products, and compression stockings.

Since moving back to Kamloops in 2013, Alysha has primarily worked in active rehabilitation as a community Kinesiologist, but she also has experience in a clinical rehabilitation setting.

In her free time, Alysha enjoys being outdoors mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, camping, and snowboarding. You can also find her at the curling rink, bowling alley, or at the gym. Alysha also loves to travel to challenge herself in unfamiliar settings and surroundings.
